Knockantota North holds a man-made underground passage on the east side of its ringfort, hidden beneath a stone slab with no visible surface trace. Local information describes the tunnel as discovered rather than obvious, suggesting people once knew where the ground concealed a way through. The absence of marks above the entrance preserves the surprise of finding a hidden passage beside an ancient fort.
