What is recorded here

Knokaneyouloo holds a circular fort whose underground passage people filled about forty years ago. The drystone wall still rises 1.8m on the north inside face, while the south has vanished into the slope. Whatever the passage did, it stopped being useful before memory faded.

A well-built circular hut (KE070-001----), built into the gradient of the slope on the S side of Mount Foley, in land devoted to pasture. The drystone wall survives best along the inner wall-face at N, where it measures 1.8m high. Elsewhere it is .3m high, while at S it is no longer extant. D: 4.8m. A Man-made underground passage (KE070-001001-) at this site, which is known locally as a 'fort', was filled in about forty years ago. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
