Man-made underground passage in Kilpatrick (kinalmeaky By.)

In tillage, on a slight NE-facing slope. This Man-made underground passage was discovered in 1994 when the ground collapsed during beet harvesting. The collapsed opening (diam. 0.75m) revealed a circular earth-cut shaft (D c. 1.5m) at the base of which a narrow creepway opened to the NE. Further investigation was not possible due to inaccessibility. In 2000 the only visible evidence of the Man-made underground passage was a slight N-S depression (6m N-S; 1.2m E-W; D 0.15m).
