Kilcoosy holds an eight-metre underground tunnel that still wears stone lintels above a collapsed chamber at its far end. The passage leaves the centre of the rath and runs north-east until it widens into a fallen room large enough for a person to crouch inside. It may have been a hiding place, a storage hole or a path to water, but its shape suggests human hands rather than river erosion.

A collapsed underground passage (L 8.2m; Wth 0.4-0.8m) going NNE from the centre of rath (LE015-011001--) is still partly lintelled and opens out into a collapsed chamber (dims 3.2m N-S; 1.5m plus E-W; H at least 0.8m) at the perimeter.
