Man-made underground passage in Grange (clonmacnowen By.)

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

That is the only available description of the named passage.
Within a ringfort (GA087-111----). A linear stone-filled hollow (L 13.5m), running N-S, abuts the inner bank of the ringfort at N. Moss-covered stones extending to W, from S end, suggest a second passage (L c. 12m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
