Man-made underground passage in Gort An Choirce (tc Gort An Choirce)

Local reports indicate a Man-made underground passage here. It is now completely covered over. A saddle quern, now built into a wall closeby, was also found in the same field as was, what, from the accounts, seems to have been part of a rotary quern. This has disappeared. The site is in a field on the E side of the road through the village of Gortahork. It is in low-lying grazing land overlooked by steeply rising ground to the E.
