Under the levelled soil of a West Cork ringfort, a narrow stone chamber waits in darkness. Lyons entered its sixteen-foot length in 1893, finding earth-cut walls and a roof of heavy flags at the narrow end. An ogham stone later surfaced nearby, suggesting the passage may have held names or memories before the field swallowed it.

In levelled ringfort (CO084-09001-). Described (Lyons 1893, 146) as earth-cut except at the narrow end which was stone built and roofed over with large flags. The chamber which Lyons entered was 16 ft long x 5 ft wide x4 ft in height. An ogham stone (CO084-09003-) found earlier within the ringfort was thought to have come from the Man-made underground passage. No visible surface trace.
