Man-made underground passage in Freemount — Report the wrong picture

Freemount holds a man-made underground passage in its north-east, hidden beneath a ringfort so overgrown that no surface trace remains. Bowman noted the passage in 1934, but the earth has since swallowed the evidence. Whatever chamber or tunnel existed there has vanished into soil and root, leaving only the memory of a hole where human hands shaped stone.

In ringfort (CO015-01503-). Bowman (1934, 626) noted that a 'Man-made underground passage was in the north-east of this fort'. Interior of fort heavily overgrown; no visible surface trace.
