Man-made underground passage in Farranyharpy

In a cashel (SL019-065001-). Three openings in the cashel wall reveal a Man-made underground passage built beneath or against the cashel wall. The walls of the passage/chambers are drystone-built while the roofs are constructed of flat slabs. At W a collapsed opening gives access to a small chamber (max. dim. 2m) with a small lintelled opening at its S end. At NE a small opening reveals a passage (Wth 0.7m; H 0.5m). A short distance S of this is an opening to a small chamber (H 0.8m). An earlier report (ITA 1942-4) suggested that the Man-made underground passage may extend into the centre of the cashel.
