What is recorded here
In a cashel (MA118-104001-). In 1982 an inaccesssible ‘small mural chamber’ (c. 1.5m square) was recorded, located within the cashel wall at NW. It was roofed with flat slabs. The visible remains appeared to be part of a larger collapsed chamber or passage (SMR file). In 1990 it was recorded in Archaeological Survey of Ballinrobe and District as a ‘chamber (L 3.8m; H 1.1m; Wth 1.7m), largely infilled, orientated N-S. Entered through hole caused by displaced lintels.’ (Lavelle 1994, 45, no. 279).
