What is recorded here

Dromkeen East holds a man-made underground passage beside a barely visible rath, proving the ground there was shaped rather than merely suffered. The passage may have served the rath as a hidden route, a storage place, or a way through rain and danger. Its exact purpose has faded, but the cut stone and deliberate depth still answer the question of whether the area was lived in, worked, or watched.

Very little remains of univallate rath KE015-030----. It is situated in a corner of a field and is cut on its E side by a fieldbank running N-S. In the interior towards the E side is an oblong mound, 4m x 1m internally. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
