This site, situated on the edge of a peat bog, is horseshoe-shaped and measures on average 23m x 20m x 1.2m in height. Half-way between the horns of the horseshoe was a well-defined hollow which measures 2m square. Excavation (Twohig, 1973) showed that the mound consisted of fire-shattered rock debris, intermingled with finely ground charcoal. In the absence of artefacts and other datable evidence, a date for the site could not be obtained. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
