What is recorded here
Deshure is a hidden place inside a ringfort in County Cork, Ireland. A single stone-lined chamber appeared, but people filled it back up and erased every visible mark. The earth kept the chamber secret, denying every later person the chance to see what human hands had built beneath the fort.
In ringfort (CO082-052001-). According to local information, single stone-lined chamber was exposed and immediately infilled. No visible surface trace.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
