What is recorded here

Not a cave but a cut chamber, possibly a cellar, a hiding place or a forgotten room beneath the rath. The passage may have belonged to the people who lived in Lismore, giving them dry storage, shelter or a route out of the rain. It is no longer visible, which makes the rath both poorer and more exciting: a human-made hole has vanished from the ground, leaving only the circular bank and the road that splits it.

Lismore/Lios Mór: Well-preserved circular rath KE044-059---- is located on level ground and has been bisected N-S by a roadway. Two possible hut-sites (KE044-059001- & KE044-059003-) are discernible in the interior but the Man-made underground passage (KE044-059002-) recorded by the KAS could not be located.
