What is recorded here
Situated on a slight rise, in generally level pasture. Man-made underground passage (WM018-035002-) lies c. 400m to SW. Not depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map or the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map. Man-made underground passage described in 1983 as the reputed site of a Man-made underground passage or ‘tunnel’ which was apparently uncovered some years ago (local information). There are no surface remains visible of any Man-made underground passage or an associated ringfort. Possible Man-made underground passage is visible as a cropmark defined by a dark linear area (approx. dims. 19m NW-SE; 4.5m NE-SW) of differential growth running NW-SE, on Digital Globe aerial photography.
