What is recorded here
Lisparkacoosaun/Lios Pháirc an Chuasáin: KE044-052---- was shown on the 1st edition of the OS map as a circular univallate enclosure.
A possible souterrrain (KE044-052001-) was revealed when the site was being cleared (local information) and An Seabhac also noted such a feature (1939, 178). A stone axe-head which was discovered on top of a 'circular underground chamber' (UCC) probably came from this site as no other Man-made underground passage is recorded in the townland.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 658. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
