An Liosachán, a small field in Corruragh, once revealed a large number of subterranean chambers whose roofs had collapsed. Tradition claims one chamber served as a forge at the beginning of the nineteenth century, placing human fire and hammer-work inside the dark earth. The exact location is no longer known, but the lost chambers still suggest a hidden layer of life beneath the ordinary field.

Mulcahy (1991, 32) records 'a small field called An Liosachán' in which was found a 'large number of subterranean chambers....the roofs of which had collapsed'. Tradition that one chamber was used as a forge at beginning of 19th century. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
