NMI Topographical Files contain a letter dated 1929 referring to a Man-made underground passage, now closed up, which was discovered in Coolnafarna townland (SMR file). The exact location of the Man-made underground passage was not recorded. The only known Man-made underground passage (MA093-062----) in Cloonafarna is located in the E half of the townland.
