Man-made underground passage in Clooncorick

Within a quarry in an area of rock outcrop. A Man-made underground passage consisting of a passage (L 3.6m; Wth 0.5m; H 0.45m) leading to a circular chamber (diam. 1.3m; H 1.2m) was discovered in 1958 (National Museum of Ireland file). It is no longer visible at ground level in a large disused quarry. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
