The lintelled entrance to a well-built drystone Man-made underground passage is located in the S face of the terrace, near its W end. It faces ESE and measures .75m high x .65m wide. A 3.3m long passage extends towards WNW before curving gently to N for a further 6m. It averages 1.2m high and 1m wide. It is interrupted midway along its length by a low lintelled creepway, flanked by four pairs of orthostats. This measures 1.4m long, .6m high and .5m wide. Collapse at the N end of the passage impeded futher investigation.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1189. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
