Man-made underground passage in Clamperpark

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Associated with a cashel (GA096-060----). Evidence for this possible Man-made underground passage consists of a roof lintel, which was visible in the external wall-face of the cashel at SW. It was inaccessible at the time of the site inspection but some collapsed material was visible behind it. There is no visible surface trace of it within the interior of the cashel. According to Cody (1989, 247-8, no. 75), it is locally believed that there is a Man-made underground passage in the interior.
