Knockafeehane casts its shadow westward across undulating pasture, hiding a man-made passage beneath a univallate rath. Ashe suspected the earth had been hollowed there decades before modern instruments arrived to prove it. The mountain keeps that secret close, waiting for someone brave enough to listen for breathing stone instead of demanding immediate proof.

Univallate rath KE045-081---- is situated on a W facing slope, in undulating pasture land at the base of Knockafeehane mountain. Ashe (1954, 20) noted a possible Man-made underground passage (KE045-081001-) at the site. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey.
