Under the broken ring of a destroyed cashel in Barnacahoge, a narrow drystone passage still breathes through a crack no wider than a man’s shoulders. Built with lintel stones and aligned north to south, it vanished into darkness before modern memory, perhaps hiding treasure, perhaps simply leading somewhere forgotten. A protruding slab eight metres away may still mark its hidden line, waiting for someone brave enough to follow the shadow.

Located roughly in the centre of a destroyed cashel (MA072-087----). An opening (0.45m E–W; 0.2m N–S) at ground surface reveals a subterranean passage (Wth 0.65m; H 1m) of drystone construction with lintel roofing. The passage, which is oriented N−S, is partly blocked with stones and inaccessible. A stone slab protruding from the sod 8m to S may mark the line of the passage.
