Man-made underground passage in Ballynamona (dunmore By.)

Within N half of a ringfort (GA030-007----). This L-shaped Man-made underground passage was exposed as a result of gravel quarrying. Only the very base, now rubble-filled, survives as well as intermittent traces of the side-walls. It consisted of two chambers, both of similar size (L c. 5m, With 1.45m), one running E-W, the 2nd extending off its SE end and running N-S, Some side-walling visible off N side of 1st chamber and off SW end of 2nd, suggests there may have been further chambers.
