Man-made underground passage in Ballymaging OR Castlemore is a man-made underground passage in Ballymaging OR Castlemore, County Roscommon, Ireland. It extends 10 metres north-south inside the rath perimeter, reaching 1 metre high at the south end where one lintel remains in place. The passage is largely blocked, but its south section preserves that lintel while the north collapsed before turning 2 metres northeast to another lintel beyond which it cannot be traced.
Inside the perimeter of rath (RO008-031001-) at W. A N-S passage (L 10m; Wth 0.9m; H 1m at S) is largely blocked except for its S end (L 1m) which has one lintel in place. From a collapsed section at N the passage turned NE (L 2m) to a lintel, beyond which it cannot be traced. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
