Man-made underground passage in Ballybrack (carbery West (w.d.) By.)

Under Ballybrack, a man-made passage still cuts through the earth beside the old ringfort. It is the kind of hidden doorway that makes a familiar field feel occupied, as if people once walked beneath the grass to reach somewhere they did not want seen. The darkness may have served fear, flight, worship or simple cunning. Whatever it was, the passage is still there, holding its shape against forgetting.
