An Seabhac recorded a man-made underground passage inside one of three ringforts in Ballynalacken, County Kerry, but never specified which. The ambiguity transforms a simple survey into a game of chance, forcing anyone who digs to choose between KE035-001, KE035-005, or KE035-023 based on instinct rather than proof. Perhaps the passage resists identification because it belongs to the gap between the forts, waiting for someone reckless enough to stop asking which and start listening for the echo beneath the soil.

An Seabhac (1939, 227) records a Man-made underground passage in a ringfort in the townland of Ballynalacken. However, there are three raths (KE035-001----, KE035-005----, KE035-023----) in this townland and it is unclear to which of these raths he refers. (Cuppage 1986, 120, nos 334, 335; ibid. 218, no. 626).
