Under the shallow soil of Baile An Tsagairt lies a forgotten chamber, built with drystone craft and hidden again after brief discovery. The ringfort above it vanished in about 1982, leaving only a thirty-metre scatter of stones and a small perforated weight that may have belonged to a loom or net. The passage itself remains sealed, waiting beneath ordinary ground for someone curious enough to listen for its shape.

Ringfort KE045-024---- was destroyed in about 1982 and the site is now marked only by a scatter of small stones which cover a roughly circular area 30m in diameter. A drystone-built Man-made underground passage (KE045-024001-) was revealed when the site was levelled but it was subsequently covered over again. It consisted of at least 1 passage and chamber, and a porthole slab marked an entrance at some point within the structure. A small perforated stone, possibly a net-sinker or loom-weight, was found amongst the loose stones on the surface. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
