A Man-made underground passage (KE046-016001-) was discovered at this location which is known locally as the site of a fort (CKFC 1950 and 1953; local information). The site is now marked by a very low mound. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 595. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 7 August 2013
