Lough Mask House 5

Recorded cave place

What is recorded here

Knocknamucklagh in County Mayo holds the fifth recorded chamber of the Lough Mask system, a dark tunnel where water still moves through stone. The cave register marks the entrance, but the landowner and local conditions decide whether a human may walk inside. What remains certain is that the earth kept a hole, and the hole keeps its shape while people come and go.
The Irish Caves Database records Lough Mask House 5 at Knocknamucklagh in County Mayo. This point comes from its public cave register. A cave map point does not by itself grant access: check local conditions and ask the landowner where needed.
