Detached two-bay single-storey with dormer attic former farm manager’s house, built c.1920, now in use as clubhouse. Lean-to porch to front (south) with single-storey addition and recent single-storey lean-to extension to rear (north). Hipped slate and artificial slate roof with rooflights and recent dormer window to rear, having dressed over-hanging stone eaves course and exposed timber rafters with timber fascia. Roughcast rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Hipped natural slate roof rear addition. Slate lean-to roof to porch. Artificial slate cat slide roof to rear extension. Roughcast rendered walls throughout with batter to south-east and north-east corners. Square-headed window openings with render sills throughout, having timber casement windows in single, bipartite and tripartite arrangements. Square-headed door openings with rendered reveals throughout, having timber panelled, battened timber and double-leaf glazed timber doors. Cast-iron door furniture to porch door. Located within own grounds set back from road, having square-profile ashlar limestone gate piers with chamfered coping and recent double-leaf gates.
This former farm manager’s house has maintained much of its character through the retention of historic features, including an assortment of timber casement windows, timber panelled door and a fine slate roof. Its fine stone gate piers are in keeping with those of the Lisselan demesne, for which it was built. It forms part of a fascinating group of demesne related structures which includes the main house, gate lodge, entrance gates, glass house, walled garden and outbuildings.
