Lisroughan

On a rise in low-lying pastureland. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 36-7) as a 'henge' monument, this low penannular ring-barrow (overall diam. 24.5m) is defined by a slightly raised area (diam. 14.3m) encircled by a traces of a fosse and an external earthen bank. An entrance gap (Wth 2.5m) at E is marked by two limestone slabs. McCaffrey (ibid.) noted that a pit had been dug at the centre of the interior and that the upcast had been spread on the surface to its S. A children's burial ground (GA095-087----) is associated.
