In pasture 290m E of Ahnalushnia Stream that marks the townland boundary with Kilgarriff. Annotated ‘Lissanakirka’ on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map where it is shown as a circular enclosure. It is depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as an oval-shaped area (dims. c. 31m NE-SW; 33m NW-SE) enclosed by a bank. Monument is visible as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a bank with traces of possible external fosse on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages. Lisnakirka is a circular early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 6th and 10th centuries, situated in a pastoral setting near the Ahnalushnia Stream. Local tradition may associate it with fairy lore, as suggested by the name "Lisnakirka," which includes the Irish "Lis" (fort) and "Circa" (church or holy well), hinting at a possible sacred or supernatural significance.
