Lisnabasty Burial Ground is a children's burial ground on a Galway rise, marked by a small stone bank and scattered set stones. The size and shape suggest a place set apart for the youngest dead, not a casual dump of field rubble. That distinction changes what the stones mean: a boundary drawn around loss, not around forgotten stone work.
On a rise in gently undulating grassland. A subcircular area (E-W 9m, N-S 7m) enclosed by a bank of earth and stone; traces of an outer bank are visible at W. Within the interior are numerous small set stones; field-clearance rubble is also evident.(O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 1, 243)
