Lismoyle

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

On a gentle N-facing slope in farmland. Poorly preserved circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) defined by a bank from SSW to NNW; a scarp forms the enclosing element from NNW to N and from SSE to SSW. No visible surface trace of the enclosing element survives from N to SSE. A field boundary overlies the enclosing element from SSE through S to NW. The cartographic evidence suggests that this was a rath. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 15 April 2019
