What is recorded here

Lislee is a vanished fairy fort on a sunny slope above Broadstrand Bay, reduced to a shallow dish in the pasture and a road cutting through its northern edge. The sea still fills the eastern view, but the hands that built the ring have disappeared into legend. What remains is a suggestion of shape, a place where memory and marble both dissolve under weather.
Pasture, S-facing slope, W of Broadstrand Bay, extensive view of sea to E. Levelled; slight depression in field. Road to N cuts part of enclosure. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
