Lisfuadnaheirka, Doonaha West is a ringfort, a type of early-medieval agricultural and defensive settlement, typically dating from the 5th to 10th centuries AD. Local folklore may associate such sites with the "fairy folk," reflecting their mystical status in Irish tradition.
