Situated on a N-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with a ringfort (TN020-013) to the N. The site was covered in dense vegetation at time of visit making examination impossible. It was previously described as a circular area (diam. 20m approx.) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.5m) with a deep external fosse (D 2m) (OPW Files). A deep depression (diam. 8m; D 2m) in the E sector is due to modern quarrying. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
