What is recorded here

On a rise in gently rolling grassland. A circular ringfort (D 43m), in fair condition, defined by a bank with traces of inner stonefacing at SE. Field walls surround the monument. Numerous gaps in the bank appear modern. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Liscoona, Trust is a circular ringfort, approximately 43 meters in diameter, likely dating to the early medieval period. While no specific folklore is recorded for this site, like many such forts in Ireland, it may have later been associated with local fairy traditions or legendary tales.
