Linghaw rises to approximately 267 meters (876 feet) and is part of the low-lying, rolling hills of the Westmorland region. Its geology is typical of the area, consisting mainly of Carboniferous limestone and millstone grit. While not prominent in folklore, it contributes to the regional landscape character and may have historical significance for local agriculture and land use.
