The ex-Trinity House vessel LV18 is the last surviving example of a manned light vessel in British waters, which has been preserved in its original configuration and restored to a high standard of authenticity

Lightship LV18, originally built in 1914, served as a floating lighthouse in the North Sea and was operated by Trinity House to guide ships through treacherous waters. It is now preserved at the Southend Heritage and Maritime Centre, serving as an important reminder of Britain's maritime safety history and the role of light vessels in coastal navigation.
