The lighthouse at Trevose Head, Cornwall, was built in 1839 and automated in 1987; it is one of the tallest lighthouses in the UK and was designed by James Walker to guide ships along the treacherous north Cornish coast. It remains an important maritime landmark and is managed by the Trinity House.
