What is recorded here

A cross-slab and possible leacht occur just outside the enclosure at E. This possible leacht is poorly defined, measuring c. 3.2m N-S x c. 4.4m E-W. It is composed mainly of small stones, but a number of large slabs lie on its surface. The cross-slab stands .56m high and measures 11m wide x .15m thick at base; its extensively pitted W face features a neatly executed, encircled, linear cross. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 925. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013
