Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Laughton's Knowe as Barrow (bronze Age), Cist (bronze Age), Cremation (bronze Age), Razor (bronze)(bronze Age), Sheath (wood)(bronze Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Bronze Age barrow with associated cist and cremation remains. It is significant as a burial monument reflecting funerary practices and material culture of early metalworking communities in Scotland.
