Latrine in Dublin South City

Latrine

What is recorded here

Isolde's Tower still stands while the latrine west of it has vanished entirely. In 1305 the place existed, and by 1558 it had closed. What remains is a hole in the city where an ordinary human need once had a visible shape.
Clarke (2002, 28) mentions the former existence of a public latrine W of Isolde's Tower in 1305 (Simpson 1994, 21). This was closed by 1558. Not precisely located.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
