Lanferas Well

Some 45m SW of Kilconnell Abbey (GA086-001----). A small natural spring, flowing NNE from a hillside, covered by an overgrown stone lintel supported by low walls. Lanferas Well is associated with Saint Lanferga, a 7th-century Irish saint known for his ascetic practices and healing miracles. The well was traditionally visited for cures related to skin ailments and was often used in early spring rituals involving the collection of "first water."
