What is recorded here

Situated on a W-facing slope of rising ground overlooking a river valley. A raised circular area (diam. 30.5m N-S) enclosed by a poorly preserved bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1m) and an external fosse (Wth 2.5m) with a possible entrance gap at W. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008 This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 3/1978).
