Knocknaveany Fort is a fairy fort in County Clare, an earthen ring where human history has thinned into myth. The soil may have held children, elders or strangers before the legends arrived, but the story now belongs to the fairies. They take the fort back whenever people stop remembering it, pulling the boundary between worlds thin enough to touch.
