Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Knock, Queen Blearie's Stone as Cross (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Linked to the legendary Queen Blearie, a figure from Scottish folklore associated with healing and protection, the stone is traditionally believed to have curative properties, particularly for eye ailments. Local tradition holds that Blearie, a noblewoman who suffered from a disfiguring eye condition, found relief at this site, leading to its veneration as a place of pilgrimage and ritual.
