Knock Promontory Fort stands where the land stops and the sea takes over, a coastal defence built on the edge of County Donegal. It is the kind of place where people watched water, weather and arrival, perhaps keeping livestock safe or marking a boundary between ownership and open ocean. The fort still belongs to that old human job of watching the horizon, even when no wall remains whole.
